We are excited for the upcoming Malcolm X Birthday Spring Fair Celebration! This year, Families United for Social Equity (FUSE) and the PTA are combining the Spring Fair and our Malcolm X Birthday celebration. This year will also feature a new game booth by the English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC).
We are gearing up for an amazing day of community celebration, free games, food (including birthday cake!), and prizes as well as student performances to honor Malcolm X. This is to our largest free, fun, family-focused community event of the year. We hope you will stop by and join the celebration.
Schedule of events is as follows:
10a-1p Free games & prizes, silkscreening* & participatory mural creation
11a-1p Free lunch (served by the King Street gate)
12p RAFFLE DRAWING and winners announced
1p Birthday cake (in the Amphitheater)
1-2p Student speeches and musical performance
* Be sure to bring your own shirts and/or other items to silkscreen.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - Please sign up for one shift (or a couple if you are can stay longer!).
We need LOTS of help to make sure the Spring Fair runs smoothly. Please sign up for a 45min volunteer shift to help set up, run games, serve food, be an errand runner (car needed), loan a shade structure or a crock pot, or breakdown/cleanup here: https://tinyurl.com/MXBday2019
We will also have community partners Cycles of Change running Bike Safety Rodeos, and Alameda Country BikeMobile offering 20 or more bike repairs for free — 1st come, 1st served.
FERIA DE PRIMAVERA PARA EL CUMPLEAÑOS DE MX 5/11
¡Estamos entusiasmados por la próxima celebración de la Feria de Primavera para el cumpleaños de Malcolm X! Este año, Families United for Social Equity (FUSE) y el PTA están combinando la Feria de Primavera y nuestra celebración del cumpleaños de Malcolm X. Este año también contará con un nuevo puesto de juego por parte del Comité Asesor de Estudiantes de Inglés (ELAC).
Nos estamos preparando para un maravilloso día de celebración comunitaria, juegos gratis, comida (¡incluso pastel de cumpleaños!) Y premios, así como actuaciones de los estudiantes en honor a Malcolm X. Este es nuestro evento comunitario más grande del añ0, gratuito y divertido, enfocado en la familia.
