Join us to celebrate language arts and literacy while having fun as a family. There will be:

  • Friendly games of Sequence, Chutes & Ladders, Scrabble, Catan Junior, Apples to Apples, Uno, Cribbage and more

  • Puzzles, Checkers, Chess, and Jenga towers

  • Mad Libs and storytelling inspired by picture cubes and cards

  • Book Swaps (for both kids and adults) - no one will leave without a book

  • Reference materials for caregivers to take home

  • Door prizes from local bookstores and game shops

  • Free pizza dinner provided by the MX PTA ..and...

  • A quick PTA October General Membership meeting for adults

Students are invited bring a favorite game from home to share, including Magic and Pokemon cards.

Why Family Game & Literacy Night?

Games take the stress out of learning to read.
Games use fluency and/or tell a story, just like reading.

Games and puzzles promote spatial awareness necessary to read.
Games are good for motor skills, problem-solving, and social skills.
Games are just plain fun!

Volunteers Needed

We need game facilitators to help with setup, explaining rules, coaching students through games and generally keeping things running smoothly all night.

If you (or a middle or high schooler in your family) love games and literacy, please email Jane at jane.logan@mxpta.org to volunteer for this event.

Venga a celebrar literatura y lenguaje al mismo tiempo que este jugando en familia. Va ver:

  • Rompe Cabezas, Checkers, Ajederz, y Jenga

  • Mad Libs y historias inspiradas por cubos de fotos y cartas

  • “Book Swaps”, intercambio de Libros (para niños y adultos) libros para todos

  • Materiales para apoyar a la familia

  • Premios de librerias locales y tiendas de juegos

  • Cena de Pizza Gratis de parte de el PTA de MX ...Y...

  • Una junta general de Octubre del PTA para los Adultos

Estamos pidiendo que estudiantes triagan sus juegos favoritos incluyendo “Magic” y “Pokemon.”

Porque un evento como este?

Juegos apoyan el aprendizaje sin estres
Juegos usan practica de lenjuage en dictar historias, igual que leer

Juegos y rompe cabezas apoyan aptitude y abilidad con conocimiento espacial nessecario para leer.

Juegos son buenos para abilidad con motor gruesa, abilidades en pensamiento y aptitudes sociales.

Juegos son divertidos!

Necesitamos Voluntarios

Necesitamos facilitadores para los juegos que ayuden con poner los juegos en las mesas, explicar las reglas, apoyando a los

estudiantes y ayudar con la noche de juegos en general.
