Building Community Through Food and Storytelling
As we continue to navigate the global COVID-19 crisis, it's important to nourish ourselves — not just our bodies, but our minds, hearts, and community. The aim of this cookbook is to bring our school community together (while maintaining safe social distance!) through food and stories told through food.
All of the recipes were submitted by our Malcolm X community - students, families, teachers, staff, and alumni. You will find dishes brought to last year’s Family Heritage potluck, MX Pi(e) Day celebration winners, and more than a few special family recipes.
In this cookbook you’ll find everything you need to know to create fresh, well-rounded meals, snacks and treats. Whether you are looking for an easy solution for a weeknight family supper, or ideas for a casual dinner party or a potluck dish or bake sale, this book has it all.
This collection of more than 150 recipes is sure to make it easy to create food everyone in your family will enjoy. All of the recipes reflect qualities that make a welcome sight on any table: great flavor, versatility, and ease of preparation. You’ll also find helpful tips, shortcuts, new ideas, and suggested menus.
Note about shipping & handling: Due to uncertainty about school reopening and social distancing requirements, all cookbooks will be shipped via USPS Media Mail. There is a $2.50 per order (to cover the majority of the media mail fee) and a $1.50 per book fee (to cover the mailer and label printing). The more books your order, the lower your per book shipping cost! 1 book = $4, 2 books = $5.50, 3 books = $7, 4 books = $8.50, you get the idea.
