Wednesday, November 9th is Family Heritage Night!
Come celebrate the many cultures that make up the Malcolm X community. This year’s program celebrates Brazil and the African Diaspora. This will be the best (free) dance party in town!
5:30/6 pm (TBD): Join us for a Potluck + Brazilian bites.
- Bring something for the potluck that represents your heritage, or even a new family food tradition!
6:45 pm: Performance in the Auditorium
- Dancers from BHS African Diaspora Dance program
- Maracatu Pacifico, folkloric style Brazilian music
7:55 pm: PTA business (5 minutes)

Volunteer at Malcolm X
Part of what makes Malcolm X such a wonderful and vibrant school is the engagement of volunteers. Some volunteers serve on the PTA, coordinating community events and raising funds to help pay for our drama, art, music, dance, and PE teachers, literacy support, math coaches, and more. Other volunteers support MX teachers and staff by reading with students, assisting with classroom projects, and assembling supplies. And some volunteers help out with school-wide activities like Rolling Drop-off or at special events sponsored by the PTA. Are you interested in volunteering at school? Fantastic! Noche de Herencia Familiar
¡El miércoles 9 de noviembre es la Noche de Herencia Familiar en la Escuela Primaria Malcolm X! Ven a celebrar las muchas culturas de la comunidad de Malcolm X. El programa de este año celebra Brasil y la diáspora africana. ¡Esta será la mejor fiesta de baile (gratis) de la ciudad!

Un recordatorio que no hay clases el viernes, 11 de noviembre por el Día del Veterano.
Hacerse voluntario en Malcolm X
El involucramiento de los padres voluntarios es parte importante de nuestra escuela. Algunos voluntarios sirven en el PTA para coordinar eventos comunitarios o para recaudar fondos para los programas de drama, arte, música, baile, educación física y apoyo académico. Otros padres voluntarios ayudan al personal docente en la clase preparando materiales, leyendo con estudiantes y con proyectos especiales.
