Please join the Malcolm X PTA for our March general meeting, on Wednesday, March 14th from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
We will be celebrating Pi Day with pizza pies and dessert pies.
Free dinner will be provided by the PTA, but anyone who would like to bake a homemade pie is encouraged to bring one and enter our first ever Pi Day Baking Contest.
The contest "judging" will take place just before our first-ever Pi-E Day Panel.
The Pi-E Day Panel will be a discussion/Q&A session with current UC Berkeley students from the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Hispanic Engineers & Scientists (HES) and other student interest groups.
Teachers, parents, and students are all invited to attend and engage with the panel as we talk about math and science learning (and experimenting and playing) in the younger grades when kids are just beginning to form ideas about what they are "good" at and which subjects they like and enjoy the most. If you are interested in learning more about how to encourage your child to explore and find success in STEM/STEAM subjects or you just like pie, we hope you will join us!
3/14 Panel de día PI-E y reunión del PTA
Por favor, únase a la PTA de Malcolm X para nuestra Junta General de marzo, el miércoles 14 de marzo de 6:00PM-8:00PM.
Celebramos el día de Pi con pasteles de pizza y pasteles de postre.
La cena gratis será proporcionada por el PTA, pero cualquiera que quiera hornear una tarta casera se anima a traer uno y entrar en nuestro primer concurso de hornear día Pi.
El concurso "juzgar " se llevará a cabo justo antes de nuestro primer panel de día Pi-(e).
El equipo del día Pi-(e) será una sesión de discusión/preguntas y respuestas con estudiantes de UC Berkeley de la sociedad de mujeres ingenieras (SWE), ingenieros y científicos hispanos (HES) y otros grupos de interés estudiantil.
Los maestros, padres y estudiantes son todos invitados a asistir y participar con el panel mientras hablamos sobre matemáticas y ciencia (y experimentando y jugando) en las calificaciones más jóvenes cuando los niños recién empiezan a formar ideas acerca de lo que "tienen éxito " en y que temas que les gustan y que más disfrutan.
¡ Si está interesado en aprender más sobre cómo animar a su niño a explorar y a encontrar el éxito en temas del STEAM o usted apenas le gusto mucho ‘pie’, esperamos que usted se unirá a nosotros!
