Dear Malcolm X Families,
As many of you know, this is the Year of the Reader in Berkeley! A wonderful part of our program is the home reading component. Each night your child should be bringing home reading materials at their level to read. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to talk to your child's teacher. Reading after school will help your child to keep improving as a reader, and is one of the most important things you can do as a parent to help your child's academic progress.

Como muchos de ustedes saben, este es el Año del Lector en Berkeley! Una parte maravillosa de nuestro programa es el componente de lectura en el hogar. Cada noche su hijo debe traer a casa materiales de lectura a su nivel para leer. Si tiene alguna pregunta sobre esto, por favor no dude en hablar con el maestro de su hijo. Leer después de la escuela le ayudará a su hijo a seguir mejorando como lector, y es una de las cosas más importantes que puede hacer como padre para ayudar al progreso académico de su hijo.
